Description:

Join us at NCSSM-Morganton for a weeklong workshop for teachers interested in learning more about teaching data science at the middle school, high school, and/or introductory college levels. No previous experience in data science or programming is required for participation! The week will include sessions on defining data science, learning data science content, understanding how data science can fit into your schools curriculum and requirements, and getting familiar with popular data science tools used in education. You can expect the sessions to be interactive and hands-on. Some sessions may ask you to get outside and collect data (weather permitting!), and then come back in the classroom to practice using your newly acquired data science skills.

This workshop is accepting 75 participants based on the applications submitted. The priority application deadline is March 15, 2024 to allow for the committee to review applications and reach out to those accepted into the workshops.
