Citizen Science in Your School and Community

Cost: No cost (Teachers will be provided with a $100 Stipend)
Description: Do you want to engage your students and your community in meaningful citizen science projects? Meet local volunteers from Chowan County that are working to understand invasive aquatic weeds in the Chowan River, and receive training from NCSU experts on identification of native water weeds as well as invasive weeds. Work with your peer teachers to explore possible projects for your school using simple methods and techniques. Learn how to incorporate project-based learning through real data collection into your core objectives and to have fun while doing STEM education.
