Description: Looking for engaging, hands-on STEM resources for your K-5 classroom? The Coastal Office of The Science House at NC State University offers a free equipment loan program and this professional development is  designed specifically for elementary educators! Through our STEM to Your Doorstep program, teachers can borrow developmentally appropriate probeware from Xploris, STEM trade books, makerspace materials, robots, and other hands-on resources that bring science and engineering to life. Best of all, we provide the training and support you need so you'll feel confident using these materials with your students.

Parking: We have plenty of free parking in front of the building. Please do not park in any spaces reserved for STAFF or state vehicles.

Snacks and Lunch:

We will provide a few snacks and drinks during your stay. Lunch is on your own. Several lunch options are within a short drive.

Travel & Hotel:

If you are from out of town and need hotel accommodations while in town, we suggest the following:

Supplies:

The Science House has a guest Wi-Fi network, so you are welcome to bring your own laptop, iPad, or electronic device. I encourage you to bring whatever school supplies you may need to take notes. We will provide you with any necessary handouts or access to electronic documents.

Who: This session is appropriate for teachers and administrators in Grades K-5.

Benefits: Certificate of completion for up to five hours (0.5 units) of professional development.

Delivery: Our plan is to offer this workshop in a face-to-face format. If that is not possible, the workshop will still be held virtually on Zoom at the scheduled date and time.
