Description: 
The North Carolina Youth Ocean Conservation Summit creates a unique experience for North Carolina students ages 11-18 by providing the skills and connections to successfully plan, fund, and carry out individual or group conservation projects. Attendees are given a special opportunity to communicate with local professionals in the fields of Ocean Conservation and Marine Science while collaborating with like-minded peers on solutions to local and/or global issues plaguing marine environments.
Skill building workshops for this event include:
- The importance of local resources
- Grant writing
- Promoting a cause using social media
