Description: Calling all CALDWELL County teachers of STEM content, CTE, Technology, and Coding and Makerspace Facilitators!!!

Makerspaces are becoming common additions to today’s schools. They allow students to actively explore, create, design, build, invent and collaborate, while learning and cultivating curiosity. Utilizing the engineering design process, these spaces allow students to learn from their failures and become more resilient learners as they explore new possibilities. An important feature of the makerspace is that content is presented in an integrated manner. However, makerspace facilitators may not be specialists in STEM content and STEM content teachers may not know how to effectively use makerspace tools and coding skills within their curricular areas. Not only do these tools and skills increase excitement about learning, they allow students to apply the content for deeper understanding.
