While teaching participants about the contributions of scientists and inventors from under-represented groups, Imhotep Academy builds self-confidence and self-esteem. Students in the Algebra Session rotate through three classes using Algebra as a tool for making sense of the world, solving problems, and modeling everyday numerical scenarios.

Session Theme: Middle school students will learn about genetic engineering processes, DNA modeling/applications, and genetic research used to treat diseases through hands-on investigations, mathematical models, and technology activities. Participants will explore careers within the field of genetics. All programming will take place in Zoom and Moodle.
