Complete Angler Workshop (CMAST)

Description: The State of North Carolina has some of the worlds most diverse fishing opportunities, from the mountains to the sea there are 26 freshwater and 34 saltwater popular game fish species.

This week long, not-resident camp is a special introduction to fishing which will provide our participants with an overview of the sport of fishing and introduce them to the many opportunities on the coast. Students will learn fishing knots and tackle, catching and finding bait, catching fish from the surf, piers and charter boats. Students will learn how to use bait casting, spin casting rods and will receive an introduction to fly fishing and fly tying. Students will also learn about fishing regulations and careers in fish biology and ocean science.

The camp is open to students in grades 7-10. Registered Scouts and Venturers will complete requirements for the fishing, fly fishing and fish and wildlife merit badge, the complete angler award and the Ranger Fishing elective.

These camps are great for students who are interested in possible Careers in STEM, or completing requirements for Scouting merit badges and 4-H projects.

Camp fee is $250.00 per student.

The applications are due June 1st and payment is due by June 10th.
