Caching In and Breaking Out! (Caldwell County Teachers Only)

Description: What do GeoCaching and Breakout Games have in common? Each, on their own, can add complexity and rigor to academic units. However, when these two strategies combine and their “Wonder Twin Powers Activate”, learning is launched towards the upper tier of the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. Through this environment, students are exposed to the 5 C’s: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Curiosity while developing persistence and grit that will help them meet their future goals. Students will analyze information, create and provide justifications, learn to think more critically, and collaborate with peers to generate innovative solutions. Want to take your classroom to the next level? Join us as we look at how these two educational superpowers merge to elicit excitement and motivation from your students. This unique training will look at how Geocaching and Breakout Sessions can be infused in instructional units and how these strategies will help develop more rigorous and relevant academic units for your students.
Each new school participating will receive a GPS and a Breakout Box kit with a 1-year membership! (Priority will be given to schools who have not previously received this equipment.)
